"This isn't funny."
I leaned over the edge of the cliff and smiled, "Yes it is."
"No. No, it's really not funny." came the response. The voice sounded a bit agitated. I suppose that being hung over the side of a cliff would make you a bit agitated as well.
I raised an eyebrow down at the escapee, "Well, perhaps it's not funny for you, but I'm sure getting a kick out of it." Grinning, I began swinging the rope a little bit, making them sway left, then to sway right.
I was rewarded with a small scream and alot of movement, trying to grab onto the side of the rock wall. "Are you crazy?! Get me the hell out of here!"
I let out a sigh. "Your no fun." I said, laying down on my stomache so I'd be more comfortable watching her sway precariously there.
"Yeah, well your sense of fun is somewhat twisted!"
"Just somewhat? Rats, I seem to be losing my edge." I said with an air of sadness. I waved my hand over the edge and down towards her, but when she reached for my hand, I brought it back up and ran it through my hair. I heard her frustrated groan and grinned.
"What's your problem? Why are you doing this to me?" She sounded quite angry now.
"Well, the fact of the matter is, sunshine, is that I am ordered to drop you over the edge right this very second. Heavy consequences will be drawn out on me if I don't. I don't enjoy being punished," I gave her a tilted look, "But your too cute to just drop over and let the rocks smash your face up. I think I will let you up after I think of a better, more beautiful way of dying."
"Oh, thank you so much, I am so flattered!" She snarled at me, glaring with several thousand tons of hatred in her eyes.
I shrugged, indifferent. "I won't kill you now, but I'm not going to save you. Your going to have to save yourself."
Her glare disappeared but she still sounded angry. "Oh really? That's so kind of you. Now, tell me how I am supposed to save myself?"
I thought about that for a moment. I really didn't know. It just seemed like something a villain would say and still be cool. Although of late, my reputation as a villain had diminished, people were talking about how I was going soft.
"Wakey, wakey!" she was yelling up at me. I had gotten lost in thought. I glanced down at her and sighed. Then I got to my knees and pulled the rope up and out until she was able to crawl back onto the rocks.
"What, no thank you?" I asked her, a lazy grin spreading across my face.
"Thank you so much for hanging me over a cliff and threatening to kill me." She countered. I placed a gloved hand over my heart, if I had one, in mock hurt.
She didn't buy that, and pointed at me, "Don't even say it!"
