It was raining. That was the first thing I noticed as I peered out my window. It seemed to always be raining these days. I sighed and pulled my hood up over my hair, not that it would make my hair any less gross than it already did look. People already hoo-ed and haa-ed at my appearance, did I really need frizzed out, sopping wet, to add to my issues?

I started out to the school, stepping on the sidewalk carefully. My shoes were beat down, they looked as how I felt. I had spent much of the night crying in my bed. My mom didn't help, she only chided me on how I should take care of myself. I tried to tell her how hard it was being a teenager, but of course, she didn't listen to a word I said. I sighed again and wrinkled my nose, the rain kept dripping off of it.

When I reached my destination, the hell hole people call school, I shuffled in and down the hallways as fast as I could, not looking at anyone, listening to some type of music in my head. If I looked up I knew they would notice and I would be ridiculed. Again.

I reached my locker safely, and started to relax a bit. First period wasn't so bad, a couple people could stand to look in my direction. I was opening my locker when I felt someone move behind me, and then I felt how cold the locker was against my forehead. I slid down to the floor, blood running down my face as I heard jeers and hoots of laughter of those who were guilty sailing down the hallway as they booked it out of there.
